On with the FAQ!

NOTE: This FAQ is still incomplete. I must research some questions before being able to answer them effectively. A *** indicates any question that I have no idea what the answer is and am still researching.

II. BOSS/ENEMY/DUNGEON FAQ

Q: How do I beat Khrima at Scrabble while rescuing Ardam?

A: Try using the word ‘gorilla’.

Q: How do I get out of the dungeon with the Treasure Chest, Crack in the Wall, Die-cast Model Airplane, and 100 lbs. of TNT?

A: Use the TNT on the Crack on the Wall, and get the treasure from the Treasure Chest.

Q: Where does a Furrister keep those speed crystals?

A: Believe me, you don’t want to know.

Q: The boss of the Ice Cave is a red dragon, and all I’ve got is fire equipment! Help!

A: Calm down, it’s just paint. He’s really an ice dragon.

Q: How do I find my way out of the puzzle after getting through the Ice Cave?

A: Use the map on the back wall.

Q: How do I tell the Navy Spectre from the Dark Blue Spectre?

A: ***

Q: Augh! How do I defeat Whizrom? He's invulnerable to Ardam's magic!

A: This is the one time in the game where Ardam should use his physical attack. Whizrom's defense is low even for a magician. It's almost as low as Gildward's.

Q: What's the best way to get rid of the Devil Gnat?

A: Use Drecker's Mug ability on it.

Q: How in the name of all spoony do I get the spell of De-lificate to work?

A: You need to cast it on a regular enemy that is only half the level you are and has a low luck rating. Therefore, it is pretty much useless.

Q: How do I defeat Eternion the first time? Khrima comes in to fight him, but he beats him eventually and finishes me off!

A: You need to have Gildward alive during this fight. That means that you either have him in your party while fighting Eternion and keep him alive, or just don't have him in the active party (therefore Eternion can't kill him). I would suggest the latter, it's actually possible.

Q: How do I get past the Security Level A lock?

A: Push the A button on the wall.

Q: How do I defeat Khrima when he has Karn in the Bindomatic Mark VII?

A: Don't wear any holy clothes, and use Ardam's summon, Holy Serpent.

Q: I know fire beats ice, and light beats dark, but what beats 'Tastes like orange Tang'?

A: 'Doesn't taste like orange Tang'.

Q: Eternion's got Karn and Khrima trapped, and Gildward's been captured! How can I possibly beat him now!?

A: Someone comes along to help after a little while.

Q: Why can't Karn hurt monsters made of fire?

A: Karn's sword goes right through it because it's not made of physical material.

Q: What does that have to do with it?

A: …Never mind, it's magic.

Q: Why is it that no matter how much I beat the crap out of them, Kemmit and Meck keep coming back for more?

A: They're not very bright.

Q: I’m stuck in the Maze of Trials. How do I solve the puzzle for Karn and Ardam’s section? I don’t see any crates or anything to move.

A: Actually, for the first time, there are…gasp…no crates. You just have to wait for Tesla to find them before moving on.

Q: In the Maze of Trials, how do I beat the huge robots in Karashi and Drecker’s section?

A: They’re way above your ability to fight, so use them to jump to the top of the maze. Be sure not to run once you get there, or you’ll fall off. Move slowly and try to join up with someone else in the group.

Q: In the Maze of Trials, how do I flip the switch in Gildward and Chookie’s section?

A: The switch requires a strength stat of 3 to flip, so, if you’ve leveled either Chookie or Gildward to level 50 or above, that one should have a stat of 2 and the other has to have a stat of 1, so you can flip it then. The door that opens leads to Karn and Ardam’s section. However, it’s a lot easier to just not level these two up and wait for Tesla to show up.

Q: Okay, I’ve used Tesla and Spybot to find everyone else, now where’s the exit?

A: Blow up a few walls until you get to the northwest corner. The exit door is there.

Q: How do I beat the Doomwyrm in the treasure chest? It keeps killing me in one attack!

A: Just try not opening it and coming back later when your level is higher.

Q: How do I beat Grand?

A: This is a hard one. Actually, no one has been able to beat him in a fair fight. You need to cheat just a bit. Here’s the strategy: Grand attacks your entire group, meaning that you will have to split everyone into 3 separate parties, with one party having only 2 members. Put Gildward in one party and Ardam in a different one. Make sure that Spybot is also with Gildward, and that he has Cover and Counter for abilities. Finally, put Karn in the last group, and make sure that one has 3 people in it. Grand will come in and attack whatever party that Karn is in. While Karn’s party and Grand are fighting (you should concentrate on playing defensively and keeping at least one person alive in this group…don’t bother to try to hurt Grand), you’ll get two options outside of the battle from time to time: ARDAM and GILDWARD. Pick Gildward, and he begins playing the Melody of Finite. Grand can now be hurt. Grand will stop fighting Karn’s party and attack Gildward’s party. If he att! acks Gildward while battling, though, Spybot will take the attack and, since Counter is on, will attack back. This may slow Grand down a bit. He may take out Spybot, but the important thing is to keep him from getting Gildward. If he takes out Spybot, have Gildward use Hide until you get the options KARN and ARDAM. If you don’t want to cheat and actually want to try to beat Grand the normal, nigh-impossible way, pick either one and that party will attack Grand (you’ll get the option of a starting special move if you pick Karn’s, or a starting magic attack if you pick Ardam’s). If you actually want to win, though, pick Ardam’s group. You’ll get an option of an attack to use while Grand’s preoccupied with Gildward. Use Vanish. Grand should turn invisible. This will cause Grand to attack Ardam’s party instead of Gildward’s. Hopefully, he won’t knock out Ardam until his next turn. When you can use Ardam again, have him cast Undimension. Grand is gone. Pat yourself on the back, y! ou’ve done a great feat: beaten a boss by cheating and looking at a guide for how to do it. Congrats!

Q: If Fire spells don’t work on the Red Trees, then how do I defeat them? They have a really high Defense.

A: Try Water, they’re weak to that.

A: No.

Q: Where's the first Tesla bromide?

A: You can get this bromide by searching through the Tracker Academy yearbooks.

Q: How do I train the snake monster I just caught?

A: You can't. It just stays on your arm for its attack.

Q: How do I find the key for the locked door in Zorn Tower?

A: The code stands for Go North With Gold (GNWG). Go north with the Gold Sword to the house and receive the Bar Code. Combine it with a Card (stolen from a Grim monster) and you'll get the key.

Q: Where on earth is the Cable Chasm?

A: Nowhere. It's on the Adventurers! planet, not this one.

Q: How do I get the treasure behind the guy saying the cave to the north has treasure in it?

A: Go to the cave to the north, get the treasure, then talk to him.

Q: When is that stupid blacksmith going to finish making the weapon?

A: You have to go on to the next two quests, then come back.

Q: I had Drecker throw some new daggers at an enemy. Can I get them back?

A: Only if the enemy didn't fall off a cliff.

Q: How do I cure Mute?

A: The Purple Gumdrop item.

Q: I missed the Green Crystal in the cave! What do I do?

A: There's a guy selling them in the streets. You'll just have to pay a lot for it.

Q: Is there any way to use a Sword Bomb and not hurt myself in the explosion?

A: No.

Q: I heard that if you stare at a certain wall for 45 hours, you'll get a secret weapon. Is that true?

A: I don't know yet. I've still got 14 hours left. ***

Q: What do I do with the Piano that I received from Microbug?

A: Play it for recreation.

Q: If Karn's not in the active party and everyone but Ardam's dead, can I switch Karn into the battle?

A: No.

Q: Is there any way to make merchants skip the personal stories and just sell their stuff?

A: Unfortunately, no.

Q: How do I get the Broken Bird Cage?

Q: Where do I find the ancient red blade Kh'inarak?

A: Look in a fish barrel by the port.

Q: Is there any way to get the Grand Blade sword after the town selling it gets blown up?

A: No.

Q: I'm at the fourth energy crystal, but I can't take it! How do I get it?

A: You have to talk to the guy in the town and then come back for it.

Q: Why do the guns of Khrima's army do so little damage?

A: The ammunition is made of foam.

Q: Who does more physical damage, Ardam with his ultimate weapon or Karn with a rolled-up newspaper?

A: Karn with a rolled-up newspaper.

Q: How do I do the dupe trick?

A: You need to go to a store and buy a weapon. Equip that weapon, then go into battle. Run away, then equip the weapon you had on before. Sell the weapon you bought. Go into battle and run again. Now unequip your weapon, and you'll have 3 of them!

Q: How many ability points does Karn need to get to learn Double-Stab?

A: 400.

Q: I need some experience! What can I do?

A: Walk around in circles until monsters attack.

Q: How do I get the Negative Sword?

A: Rotate every flower pot in the game by 90 degrees.

Q: How do I release the Unbreakable Crystal Orb from the altar holding it?

A: There are two ways of doing this. Go back to the Ice Cave and get the shining icicle near the entrance, then go to Lokar and give the icicle to the little boy near the bar. He’ll turn into a large monster. Beat the monster and you’ll receive a Great Key. Take the Great Key to the king of Lokar and he’ll tell you the secret of the Gold Cane. Go to the swamp nearby and search where the king told you to, and you’ll find it. Then take the Gold Cane to the old man at the entrance of the Unbreakable Crystal Orb’s cave, and he’ll take you to a secret room. Complete the puzzle there, and he’ll release the orb and give it to you. The other way is to just have Ardam cast Fire Foom Explosion on the altar when you first find it.

Q: Is there a text speed option to speed up what NPCs are saying?

A: I’m afraid not.

Q: How do I get the Gold Key?

A: Talk to the keeper of the Gold Key after finding the door that you need it for. He develops an allergy to gold, and gives you the key.

Q: If I put a good piece of armor or weaponry on some guy, and he leaves the party, how do I get it back?

A: You don’t. Hope you didn’t blow your paycheck on his equipment…or give him anything legendary.

Q: How do you play Septuple Square?

A: I have no idea. From what I can determine, it follows rules taken from Poker, Solitaire, Go Fish, and Soccer. But I can’t really determine which rules they are. ***

Q: Can you unlock any secrets by talking to the guy that says "Many men have been lost to the secret altar" lots of times?

A: No.

Q: Can I ever get that ten bucks that Mizuna owes Karashi?

A: No. Mizuna’s too stingy and Khrima doesn’t pay very well.

Q: My Freeze Gun is defective.

A: No, it’s just badly translated.

Q: Where do I get the Manganese Relic?

A: It’s in the Haunted Castle of Manganese Doom.

Q: How do you win the tank mini game when defending the base?

A: I’m not quite sure…it’s complicated. I'll answer once I figure it out. ***

A: Talk to the thief, Drecker, in the town you just came from. If you let him join you, he’ll give your equipment back.

Q: Is there any use for Gildward the Bard?

A: Storyline-wise, you need him desperately for the Song of Finite. Battle-wise? None whatsoever.

Q: How do I beat Karashi in the Throwing Things Contest?

Q: Does anyone like Chookie?

A: Someone probably does. I don't know anyone, though.

Q: I don't believe it! Is Ardam really the traitor? You think you know a guy…

Q: What the…where the heck did the team get those big robots?

A: Shh! Do you want to start a lawsuit or something?

Q: A weapon shop is selling guns, but none of my characters can use them. Did I miss someone?

Q: Is there really any point to being the world's strongest bard?

A: Nope.

Q: How do you get the guy with level 99 powers to come with you to face the boss?

A: No, Khrima needs to break it for the story to continue.

Q: How do I get off the desert island?

A: Wait for Drecker to show up and tell Karn that it isn’t a desert island. It generally happens after Karn’s caught over 250 fish.

Q: Did Khrima die in the explosion when the crystal shattered? Have we seen the last of him?

A: HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA Hahahahahahahahahahah….cough….hah ha ha ha ha ha….ahem, excuse me. No.

Q: Please tell me that there is some way…ANY way…not to have to go to Chooktown.

A: Sadly, no. Just try to control your stomach for long enough to pass through this town.

Q: Is this ‘France’ place a side quest?

A: No, it doesn’t exist in Adventurers!.

Q: Then how do the cooks have French accents?

A: They teach them the accents at chef school.

Q: No fair! They didn’t give me the full five minutes to disarm the bomb in the hold!

A: Serves you right for trusting a dumb NPC whose job, rather than being a bomb expert, is to shout "This boat is powered by steam!"

Q: Is Spybot the coolest character ever?

A: Quite likely.

Q: How did Eternion get a dry ice machine in the council’s abstract representation of n-dimensional space?

V. OTHER QUESTION FAQ

Q: Is the battle transition process dangerous to the nervous system?

A: Go to the Adventurers! homepage (www.adventurers-comic.com) and check out the shop.

Q: Where can I get some Hero Hair Gel?

A: They don’t sell it due to a high toxicity affecting the mind.

Q: Are there any good fan pages on Adventurers! characters?

A: There aren't really any on Karn, Khrima, Ardam, Eternion, Gildward, Killer Evil Death Spybot 5000, Chookie, Drecker, or any of the minor characters, but there are some very good ones on Karashi and Tesla, assuming you're a straight male, bi, or lesbian. Er…not that I've ever been to any of them…I'd never do that…~coughs~

Q: I found one of the web pages. Are ninjas really that flexible?

A: Hmm…this is a question that definitely involves research! I'll let you know once I've collected enough data… ***

Q: Is there a soundtrack available for Adventurers!? What's on it?

A: Not yet. If there was, though, it might include a heavy metal rendition of Mary Had a Little Lamb by the Ax, the Melody of Finite by Gildward, and Don't Destroy My Heart by Spybot.

Q: Just how the heck do you say the evil demon's name of Kh'Htrrild58dj@dhf?

Q: Where can I find the book that Khrima wrote on how to sneak up on people with the Bindomatic Mark VII?

A: Try Barnes & Noble.

Q: Why does everyone have a clock if the time never changes?

Q: Why should I read this FAQ when I could read the official walkthrough/strategy guide made by Prima?

A: Er…um…no comment!

A: Hero and Cherry. It's a cameo from the game RPG World.

Q: How the heck does an untrained civilian NPC make it down through a dungeon before me?

A: He or she uses the NPC elevator, naturally.

A: When asked this question, the director had this to say: "There, are many guards, at the castle…many guards at, the castle."

Q: Where o where do those treasure chests come from?

A: Well, the obvious reason is the tiny robot pirates that dance with their booty through caves. But with their pirate peg-legs, they tend to trip.

Q: Why do they dance through caves?

A: Because that’s what tiny robot pirates do. What a silly question.

Q: Why does Khrima make Mizuna say that dumb speech before powering up?

A: It’s a transformation thing.

Q: If you had to give one tip for playing this game, what would it be?

Killer Evil Death Spybot 5000 for giving me so much information about Karn’s party.

Coca-Cola, for having such a cool, refreshing taste.

Magic, for being better than being killed in a random encounter.

Ian J, for cooperating with Mark Shallow to produce a cool crossover event.

Experience in a can, for giving me that winning edge against the bosses.

Save Points, for granting eternal life and health.

The word ‘gorilla’, for winning so many Scrabble games for me.

Nerf, for providing ammunition for Khrima’s army.

And finally, NPCs, for giving so much important information for free, and for repeating the information indefinitely just in case you forget it.
